20th Century has landed the original epic Nue from director Takashi Yamazaki with Scott Free producing. Yamazaki will direct with Scott Free’s Ridley Scott and Michael Pruss producing, alongside Keiichiro Moriya and Go Abe from Robot Communications, and Toho-Tombo’s Georgina Pope. Amie Horiuchi will also serve in a producing capacity.

Yamazaki has been on Hollywood’s radar following the global success of his 2023 pic Godzilla Minus One, which was not only a box office hit but was lauded by critics and went on to win a Best Visual Effects Oscar.
His upcoming sequel Godzilla Minus Zero will be released in the U.S. on November 6 via Toho International. Yamazaki’s additional credits include The Eternal Zero and Stand by Me Doraemon. He is represented by CAA and Greenberg Traurig.
As for Scott Free, this project continues a strong relationship between Scott Free and 20th Co-Head Steve Asbell.
Upcoming Scott Free films include The Dog Stars directed by Scott and starring Jacob Elordi, Josh Brolin, Guy Pearce and Margaret Qualley which will be released by 20th Century Studios in August, and The Riders directed by Edward Berger and starring Brad Pitt for A24.
