A newly released Arizona police file is shedding new light on the final months of former Storage Wars star Darrell Sheets‘ life.
The police report reveals Sheets was hit with a $500,000 demand, according to a report published by the U.S. Sun on Friday, July 10.
Sheets, who starred on Storage Wars from 2010 to 2021 and died in April at 67, filed a harassment complaint with police in January describing what he says was a two-year campaign by someone impersonating him and his business, Show Me Your Junk, per the outlet.
According to the police report, Sheets told officers he had contacted the FBI about the alleged harassment and believed the person responsible was once a friend before a falling-out triggered the abuse. He said he was fielding “30 to 50 calls a day for random doctor appointments and reality programs” he suspected the individual had signed him up for, and that a fake Facebook page had been created using his business’s name to disparage it, the outlet reported.

According to the article, a day after his initial complaint, Sheets told police he had received a text from the number he linked to his alleged harasser stating “time was up.” Sheets responded, “What do you want? $.” Soon after, a call came from an unknown number where the person on the line said only “$500,000” before hanging up, per the report.
When officers later contacted the man believed to be behind the harassment, he refused to disclose his location, telling police he had “received numerous death threats since Darrell’s death” and insisting he “doesn’t have anything to hide,” the outlet reported. The case was later closed without charges, as Sheets could no longer testify.
A note found in a black bathroom basket near where Sheets died referenced ongoing “Facebook bullying,” per the report.
As Globe previously reported, Storage Wars costar Rene Nezhoda claimed Sheets had been the target of ongoing cyberbullying before his death. In an Instagram video shared after the tragedy, Nezhoda said his longtime friend had “a guy really tormenting him lately and cyberbullying [him]” and urged people to take online harassment seriously. “Darrell has been posting a lot about the guy that’s been cyberbullying him and tormenting him, and I really hope they look into that guy,” Nezhoda said, while remembering Sheets as a devoted family man.
