Brooke Warne, the daughter of the late cricket legend Shane, has announced she is engaged to her longtime partner Alex Heath.
“It was always us,” Brooke wrote, sharing heartwarming photos of the proposal from the couple’s holiday in the US.
Heath got down on one knee to propose and a picture perfect rainbow lit up the sky in the background as they celebrated the special moment.
To commemorate the proposal Brooke used the song “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran, who was one of her late father’s friends.
Brooke was inundated by messages of support including from her mum Simone Callaghan, who said the rainbow was a sign dad Shane was looking down on them.
“Truly a beautiful match made in Heaven, beyond Happy for you both, endless LOVE, and the rainbow Dad’s sign for you Brookie & Alex, he will be over the moon celebrating, enjoy this special moment, can’t wait to squish you,” she posted in a touching comment.
Callaghan also posted: “Roses are Red Violets are Blue Alex We Love you, Congratulations. So exciting Brookie & Alex. Engaged.”
Brooke’s brother Jackson Warne posted: “I have a brother! Congrats guys.”
Her sister Summer said: “Could not have asked for a better brother in law, their love is something I can only hope to have a half of one day.”
Brooke, 29, has been with Heath for the past seven years.
“He’s my best friend and I’m so grateful for everything he does for me,” she has said.
“I’m very lucky to have him in my life.”
Warne’s children Brooke, Jackson and Summer have shown immense strength since the cricket icon’s shock death in Thailand due to a heart attack in 2022.
Last year Brooke revealed chilling details about the moment she first learned of her father’s death.
She explained all three siblings were together when their father’s manager Andrew Neophitou called to tell them their father had suffered a heart attack.
“We were having such a nice night … and you got the phone call from Neo (Neophitou),” Brooke said on the “Warnes Way Podcast”.
“We stood up, and I remember I couldn’t breathe,” Brooke said.
“And when you hear [something like] that … I felt like I had like this out-of-body experience.
“I didn’t think what was happening was happening.”
