Liam Neeson is back with a new non-stop action thriller that already looks like another intense entry in his legendary filmography. The movie star is getting his own modern version of The Fugitive, playing a war hero accused of a crime he did not commit, a predicament that leads him on a cross-country car chase.
Samuel Goldwyn Films released the official trailer for The Mongoose, which is set to hit theaters on Oct. 30. The film stars Neeson as Ryan “Fang” Flanagan, a military veteran wrongly accused of murdering his ex-wife’s abusive partner. However, despite law enforcement, led by Pope (Michael Chiklis), hot on his tail, Ryan is not alone. On the sidelines, Tara, his former spouse played by Marisa Tomei, and Tanker, a fellow combat vet portrayed by Ving Rhames, are supporting Ryan as he makes his way to The Mongoose.
As the trailer suggests, audiences will learn more about Ryan and his past combat experience throughout the film’s extended chase. The protagonist not-so-subtly declares that he will not be captured again, flashing back to a time in which he was taken as a prisoner of war alongside Tanker. The Mongoose’s premise is certainly nothing that breaks the mold, but coupled with an impressive cast and leading action star, there is enough to get Neeson fans in theater seats this fall.
