Huawei and Apple’s price strategy has worked in favor of the respective firms as they are dominating China’s smartphone market in Q2 2026. Meanwhile, many Android brands have slipped on the ground following the stringent component cost problems.

Counterpoint today dropped its analysis on China’s smartphone sales market for Q2 2026, where Huawei is leading with the highest shipment share among all rivals.

The company’s smart price strategy helped it retain the top position, despite the fact that the entire Chinese smartphone market is seeing a decline of 2% year-on-year.

Huawei has scored 23% of the sell-in shipment share in the second quarter of 2026, up from 18% in the same period last year. Apple follows the OEM in the second spot.

According to the report, Huawei’s strengthened market leadership is fueled by strong demand for Enjoy 90 Pro Max, which packs a 5G Kirin chip and an 8500mAh battery. The device appeared as a turning point in the firm’s entry-level phone segment.

Counterpoint said:

“Huawei’s strong performance was driven by robust demand for the Enjoy 90 Pro Max and strength across its broader portfolio, sustaining 24% YoY shipment growth.”

The successful launch of the Pura X Max also reinforced Huawei’s foothold in the premium foldable market. While rising memory costs forced Android smartphone brands to use more conservation production plans, Huawei now aims for a 20% increase!

Apple has ranked second, outperforming many Chinese brands with 18% of the sales share. Its stable pricing has attracted many customers to iPhones.

OPPO showed up on the third stand – the same rank as last year, but this time, the company slipped from 18% to 16% in the sales share. Vivo has dipped to the fourth spot from the second with 16% of the shipment share.

Xiaomi and Honor have achieved fifth and sixth positions, respectively. The report further mentioned that as higher-cost inventory reaches the market in the second half of 2026, another wave of smartphone price increases could show up in Q3.
