Adam Ramsay-Peaty, the son-in-law of chef Gordon Ramsay, has made his commitment to his new family clear with a “special” move at the Commonwealth Games.
The three-time Olympic swimming champion, 31, debuted his new last name on his swimming cap at a Team England training day, seven months after marrying Ramsay’s daughter, Holly Ramsay-Peaty, 26.

Holly, who is pregnant with the couple’s first child together, reacted to the news on Instagram, labelling it “so special”.
Adam, widely considered Britain’s best-ever swimmer, will compete in his fourth Commonwealth Games this week, hoping to defend his 2022 50-metre breaststroke gold medal.
Adam and Holly married on December 27, 2025, amid a public fallout with his own parents, who did not attend the wedding.
Adam’s sister, Bethany, was reportedly the only Peaty family member in attendance for the nuptials.
The fallout is rumoured to have erupted after Adam’s mother, Caroline, did not receive an invite to Holly’s hen party.
At the time, the bride shared photos of the weekend-long celebrations which were attended by her mum, sisters and a number of close friends, including close friend of the Ramsay family, Victoria Beckham.
An Instagram user, claiming to be Holly’s aunt, Louise Williams, commented on the post criticising Holly’s failure to invite her future mother-in-law.
“You have inflicted a hurt on my sister that will take a very long time to heal if ever,” she wrote.

Upon returning from his own stag do, Adam was met by police at Manchester Airport over fears he would be assaulted following alleged threatening messages from his brother, James.
Adam’s mother, Caroline, later did an interview with the Daily Mail, stating that Adam had denied her from wearing a planned cream-coloured dress to the wedding because it was too close to white.

She complained her son was “in Gordon’s clutches”.
“I can’t help but feel like they are pulling him away from me. Their family is very insular,” she said of the Ramsays.
In February, Ramsay addressed the Peaty family drama directly while promoting his Netflix docuseries, Being Gordon Ramsay.

“It’s just upsetting,” Ramsay said to Daily Mail.
“It’s all self-inflicted from their side, because we’ve done nothing – none of what you’ve read: no rudeness, no ignorance – we welcomed them.”
