Up on the podium this week with a gold medal is Robert Peterson of Summerville with a group of energetic dancers down in Colombia.

Honorable mentions go to Dale Johnson of Summerville, who got a pic of a perching brown pelican at Charles Towne Landing, and Bill Goff of Daniel Island with a pair of incredibly fast dragsters at Royal Purple Raceway in Texas.
Next week’s topic is “Patterns,” so be on the lookout for repeating signs and objects which have made for some eye-catching photos.
From Bill Goff of Daniel Island, “Top Fuel dragsters can reach speeds of over 345 mph in just 1,000 feet. They certainly stay ‘In Motion!’ To capture these dragsters in still motion, I had to be moving the camera at the same speed as the cars. This photo was taken in 2011 while I was visiting the Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, Texas.”
The rules. Send your best photo to yourphotos@postandcourier.com by noon Tuesday. Include your name and town, and a description of where the photo was taken. Be sure to add the topic to the file. If you want your photo to be eligible to run in the newspaper, it must be at least 1,500 pixels, not have a commercial watermark and not have been published in another publication.
On Fridays, we first announce the editors’ pick of the week at postandcourier.com/yourphotos and declare a topic for the next week. On Saturdays, we publish an online gallery.
On Sunday, the photo pick of the week will appear in this section, Life.
