Prince Harry and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor are reportedly both known as the ‘Duke of Hazard’ behind palace walls. The two of them, who are nephew and uncle, are no longer working members of the Firm – although for very different reasons.
The 65-year-old was previously stripped of his York title, as well as any honours, over his connection to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Harry, however, has not lost his Sussex title – with him previously commonly referred to by it in television interviews and on the cover of his bombshell memoir Spare. It was previously agreed that Harry would no longer use his HRH title after stepping back from royal life in 2020.
This alleged name is a play on the American comedy, The Dukes of Hazzard.
Writing candidly in Spare, the King’s younger son shared a conversation he had with Meghan about the possibility of them losing their security before their royal exit.
He recalled telling his wife that they’d “never” do it, as Andrew still had his.
The royal wrote: “Meg asked me one night: You don’t think they’d ever pull our security, do you? Never. Not in this climate of hate. And not after what happened to my mother.”
Harry added: “Also, not in the wake of my Uncle Andrew. He was embroiled in a shameful scandal.”
Despite this, the 41-year-old noted at the time that “no one had so much as suggested that [Andrew] lose his security”.
An insider previously told PEOPLE exactly how Harry felt about the comparable to his uncle. They said that Harry “was frustrated by the comparisons”.
