Property developer APxHouse and architectural firm Pieter Mostert Architects (PMA) have announced an exclusive partnership for the development of Woodlands @ Herboths, an upscale low-density nature estate situated east of Windhoek
Under the collaboration, PMA will serve as the estate architects, responsible for the architectural design of homes and overseeing design approvals on behalf of the estate’s Home Owners Association.
Le-Hugo van Rooyen, the Chief Executive of APxHouses said, “This collaboration gives the estate a single architectural footprint, one that protects the value of every home while leaving owners free to build the home they have always imagined. According to the statement, Woodlands @ Herboths sits in roughly 160 hectares of protected nature estate, with 31 freehold erven ranging from three to eight hectares each. Rather than a catalogue of set house types, the estate gives each owner the freedom to design their own home.
Each home is designed to operate fully off-grid, with a hybrid solar system provided in the property purchase, secured bulk water from NamWater and on-site wastewater treatment, so that every household runs independently, reliably and in an eco-friendly manner.
Additionally, wildlife roams freely across conservation corridors, while internal roads connect onto the upgraded Dr Hage Geingob Freeway, placing the estate about twenty minutes from Windhoek and en route to Hosea Kutako International Airport.
