Audacy has named Andre Yancey Brand Manager of classic hip-hop “102 Jams” KRBQ San Francisco, where he will oversee content strategy, talent, operations and branding. He will continue to serve as Assistant Brand Manager of co-owned classic hip-hop “94.7 The Block” WXBK New York.
“As a Bay Area native, Andre understands what the community wants and needs,” said Skip Dillard, Urban AC and Throwbacks Format Vice President, Audacy. “We look forward to seeing how his creative instincts and acute eye for technology come together to elevate the brand and deepen its connection with listeners.”
Yancey began his radio career in the Bay Area as part of the KMEL street team before working alongside the station’s Morning Zoo. He joined Audacy in 2021 as Director of Morning Content Operations for WCBS-FM in New York, where he helped relaunch the station’s morning show following the pandemic.
He later helped launch “94.7 The Block,” which earned consecutive Gracie Awards and became Audacy’s most-used urban streaming brand.
Yancey brings more than a decade of experience in brand management, audience growth and digital transformation.
He fills a role that was most recently overseen by Ben “Complex” Romero, who continues as Brand Manager of CHR “Live 101.5” KALV in Phoenix, along with CHR “106.5 The End” KUDL and rhythmic CHR KSFM (102.5) in Sacramento.
“Radio has been part of my life since I was a kid growing up in the South Bay – a companion, a soundtrack, a way to feel connected,” added Yancey. “Complex has been an incredible steward of Jams, and we’re going to continue building on everything he’s put in place. Jams is a love letter to The Bay and its contribution to culture, and more than ever, companionship and connection are what radio is about.”
