After an eight-month absence, MeTV FM is returning to the Coachella Valley, this time on KMEE Thermal, CA (92.1). KGAY PSP will relaunch the classic hits format Monday, Aug. 3, bringing its mix of familiar favorites, deep tracks and softer sounds to the east side of the valley.
The “92.1 MeTV-FM” format replaces the simulcast of AC “Sunny 106.5” on the the Thousand Palms-licensed FM translator K293CL and KGAY-HD2, which launched following a programming shuffle at the end of 2025.
That shuffle moved the LGBTQ+ Dance “KGAY” brand from 92.1 and 106.5 to 103.1, replacing KMEE. The “Sunny 106.5” simulcast will remain part of the KGAY PSP radio lineup, alongside KGAY 103.1.
KGAY PSP Owner and CEO Brad Fuhr said the company heard from former MeTV FM listeners who missed the format following the frequency changes.
“When we switched formats late last year to move KGAY to a better frequency, we also launched Sunny 106.5 in our radio family,” Fuhr said. “Sunny 106.5 quickly developed its own loyal audience, but we heard repeatedly from MeTV FM fans that they missed the music, the memories, and the unique companion on the radio that MeTV FM provides.”
The returning format, billed as the Coachella Valley’s “Radio gold mine,” will feature classic hits, deep tracks and softer sounds spanning multiple decades, with a focus on the 1960s and 1970s and selections from the 1950s and 1980s.
The station says its music library includes more than 3,500 songs, with more than 350 different songs played each day without repeats.
Fuhr also highlighted a new feature called “Mid-Century Memorable,” which will sprinkle songs from a bygone era throughout the day. The selections include standards such as Bobby Darin’s “Beyond the Sea,” Frank Sinatra’s “I’ve Got You Under My Skin,” Shelley Fabares’ “Johnny Angel,” Frankie Avalon’s “Venus” and Sam Cooke’s “You Send Me.”
“These songs were timeless and memorable when they first came out on vinyl. And they remain so today,” Fuhr said.
“We are thrilled to bring 92.1 MeTV FM back home to the Coachella Valley dial,” he added. “Our team is committed to delivering great music of all genres and this return reinforces our mission to offer diverse, top-quality local broadcasting.”
Listeners across the valley can tune in to MeTV FM at 92.1 KMEE or stream the station online. KGAY PSP said additional announcements regarding on-air programming and special launch events will be made in the coming weeks.
The KGAY PSP media family also includes the Gay Desert Guide, a local news and information source for the LGBTQ+ community, and Oasis Marketing Group (OMG PSP), a digital marketing agency.
