The Spider-Man: Brand New Day star has five siblings—sisters Katianna, Annabella and Kaylee, and brothers Austin and Julien—from her father Kazembe Ajamu Coleman’s previous relationship. Kazembe and Zendaya’s mother, Claire Stoermer, welcomed Zendaya in 1996. They later married, but divorced in 2016.
Although her siblings are older than her, Zendaya has connected with them. She shared a rare family photo with several of them to her Instagram in December 2016, writing in the caption, “Coleman Family…the people I do it for, my motivation, my support, my everything.”
She’s also vocal about her love for her nieces and nephews, and wrote on Instagram about getting “major auntie points” for giving one niece a “Harry Potter birthday” at Universal Studios Hollywood in 2017. More recently, the Emmy Award winner joked to People that her “many, many little nieces and nephews” are “like my borrowed children.”

Zendaya reportedly has five older siblings, although their exact ages are not publicly known. Her sister Katianna, who goes by “Kizzi,” is one of the actress’s formative influences. “I look up to my big sister and realize the influence she’s had on me and making me a better person. Having such a big, grounded family, I realized as you get older how important that is,” the Odyssey star told Time in 2015.
She and her siblings grew up in Oakland, California. Kizzi told Vogue in a 2019 profile of the Euphoria star that “everyone pitched in” during their childhoods. Still, they recognized the economic disparities within their community. “I think ‘Daya [Kizzi’s nickname for Zendaya] was also influenced by seeing the differences between her mom’s public school and the private school where our dad was teaching. Like, ‘OK, there are some discrepancies here…'” Kizzi explained.
While Zendaya has been in the spotlight since her days as a child star on the Disney Channel, her siblings keep lower profiles. Many don’t have public social media accounts. Still, proud dad Kazembe will occasionally share throwback photos of his kids on his Instagram. In 2017, he posted a picture of Kizzi taking her brother Julien (who goes by “EZ”) to prom in 1995.

She may be a superstar and fashion icon, but to her siblings’ kids, Zendaya is simply “Aunt Daya.” In a December 2015 Complex cover story, she was asked about her squad, and her response said it all.
“I think the closest person to me is my niece, who’s 20,” she shared, although she didn’t name the niece in question. “She lives in L.A. with my sister who’s out here with her two daughters and husband. So I escape to their house all the time. I’ll call her at any time about anything, we’ll go out to dinner for random stuff. We just chill.”
In 2014, the A-lister brought her niece Ezenia “Zink” Coleman (her brother Julien’s daughter) to get matching manicures with her while they played Besties Word Association for Teen Vogue.

Zendaya’s brought her nieces and nephews to red carpet events with her, too—including the 2017 L.A. premiere of Spider-Man: Homecoming and that year’s Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards. “I get to have fun and then give them back to their parents,” she once joked to People, adding that “the mothers in my life and around me” inspired her performance as a young mom in 2024 film Challengers.
She’s said ‘being with family’ helps her remember who she is outside of the spotlight.

While fronting the May 2026 issue of Vogue Brazil, Zendaya once more showed her love for her Coleman crew. Asked what helps her remember who she is outside of her public persona, she said, “Being with my family. We are very close. I’m an aunt, and seeing my nieces and nephews grow up is very important to me. They bring a lot to my life, even without realizing it. Sometimes, it’s simple things, like helping to redecorate my niece’s room.
“At that moment, I’m just Aunt Daya—and that’s everything,” she added.
She’s also brought her now-husband Tom Holland along to spend time with her family. In a December 2024 appearance on the Dish podcast, he shared that his holiday plans would take him to the U.S. “I’ll be with my girlfriend’s family, which will be fun,” Holland said, adding later in the same interview, “I think what we’d like to start doing is rather than spending it with each family each year is bring the families together. That’s what I think we want to do next time.”
So, Zendaya’s siblings might be flying across the pond to spend Christmas with the Hollands next December—if the Londoners don’t make their way to Oakland first.
