It’s time once again for Trekkies to set course course for Sin City for Creation Entertainment’s STLV: Trek to Vegas. The biggest annual Star Trek con lasts five days and kicks off this Wednesday, August 5, running through Sunday, August 9 at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. This year celebrates the 60th anniversary of the franchise with a jam-packed program of big Trek stars from across the decades, deep cut panels, fun events, parties, and more, spread across three separate stages and beyond. And as usual, TrekMovie will be there to cover the event as well as hold panels and co-host a party.
Stars from across Trek… and beyond
The guest list for STLV 2026 has names from every era of the franchise, including the just added John Rhys-Davies (Leonardo da Vinci hologram on Voyager). There will be main cast members from every show in Star Trek’s history, from The Original Series‘ William Shatner and George Takei to most of the cadets and some of the instructors from Starfleet Academy. Captains Kate Mulgrew, Anson Mount, and Scott Bakula will be on hand.
And as this year also celebrates the 25th anniversary of Enterprise, Scott’s co-stars Connor Trinneer, Linda Park, Dominic Keating, and Anthony Montgomery will be on hand. And there is plenty of representation across the franchise with multiple main cast members from Next Gen, Deep Space Nine, Discovery, Picard, Lower Decks, Strange New Worlds, and Starfleet Academy. And some guests represent multiple shows, like Robert Picardo gets to do triple duty, for Voyager, Prodigy, and Starfleet Academy.
This year is delivering a lot guest stars to celebrate the 60th, from the actors who played kids in The Original Series‘ “And the Children Shall Lead” to frequent guest stars James Cromwell, John de Lancie, and Clint Howard, plus fan favorites like Ken Marshall (Eddington, DS9), Shannon Fill (Sito Jaxa, TNG & Lower Decks), Kara Zediker (T’Pau, Enterprise), James Callis (Maurice Picard, Picard), and Voyager‘s Tuvix himself, Tom Wright. There are also a couple of big names from the movies like Peter Weller (who was also on Enterprise) and Bruce Greenwood.
Rick Berman, the man who steered the Star Trek franchise from The Next Generation through to Enterprise will be there on the weekend, and the con will have panels with other behind-the-scenes creatives like Brannon Braga, Ronald D. Moore, David A. Goodman, David Gerrold, Terry Matalas, Ralph Winter, Nicholas Meyer, Michelle Paradise, Mike McMahan, Mike Sussman, Michael Westmore, Fred Bronson, Doug Drexler, and Mike & Denise Okuda.
Sadly, there have been some disappointing cancellations, par for the course with busy working actors. Walter Koenig, Colm Meaney, Rosalind Chao, Paul Giamatti, F. Treksperts bringing out writers, TOS guest stars… and Galaxy Quest
The Inglorious Treksperts are owning the second stage for the third year in a row. Their four-day schedule includes “legendary Star Trek stars, writers, directors, cinematographers, producers, authors and podcasters” and kicks off on Thursday in the DeForest Kelley Theater. On Friday night, they’ve lined up a slew of actors from Trek and beyond for a live reading of the semi-Star Trek film Galaxy Quest with James Callis, Terry Farrell, Thomas Wright, Juliet Landau, Rekha Sharma, Dana Snyder, Todd Stashwick, Nana Visitor, and Noël Wells.
The Treksperts will also be celebrating Enterprise hosting writers Chris Black and Michael Sussman to look back at the stories, challenges, and creative choices behind the show as well as its growing legacy 25 years later.

Music, movies, and more
Other events include live performances from Khan: The Musical, Broadway to the Stars with the Nevada Pops Orchestra and a bevy of talented Star Trek performers, the Orchestral Performance Gala, and more, plus the cosplay contest, photo stations, painting parties and craft swaps. And of course there are many many celebrity photo ops including fun themed group photos, plus the dealers room features plenty of stuff to tax your wallet, along with displays from several Star Trek licensees.
The Rio itself is holding nightly film screenings of different Star Trek movies at the Rio Event Stage. More details at RioLasVegas.com.
If you haven’t secured a room at the Rio, you’re out of luck, but there are still rooms available at other hotels in the area.

TrekMovie editors and podcasters Anthony Pascale, Laurie Ulster, Matt Wright, and Brian Drew will talk about where things stand and where things are headed for the franchise on television, film, and beyond. Please come and say hi, there will be a Q&A to ask any burning questions you have.
Second, we will be doing a panel called “AI in Star Trek, Onscreen and Off” in the Lounge on Friday at 1:15 PM with Andrew Britton, Dr. Kayla Iacovino, Jon Spencer, and Anthony Pascale. We are hoping for heavy audience participation throughout, so come by with your opinions, your vents, your pain points, and your arguments.
Look for Anthony (and possibly Laurie too) will be joining other podcasters and representing All Access on the Treksperts stage on Sunday at 3:00 for Open the Podcast Bay Doors, Hal.
Laurie is also moderating two panels: Star Trek: The Original Series guest stars with Louise Sorel, BarBara Luna, Deborah Downey, Pamelyn Ferdin, and Craig Huxley on the main stage on Wednesday at 11 AM and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds with Anson Mount, Ethan Peck, Christina Chong, Martin Quinn, and Dan Jeannotte on Sunday at 2:45 PM, which is why she may not make it to the podcasters panel.
