Contrary to recent rumors, the leaker said there is no delay for the iPhone Fold expected to launch this year.

The Apple iPhone will complete two decades of existence next year, and it’s widely believed that the company will plan a major upgrade for the 20th anniversary iPhone. At the same time, Apple has been working on the foldable iPhone since forever.
Some new information from the Weibo leaker Fixed Focus Digital sheds more light on the fate of the two devices. In the case of the iPhone Fold or iPhone Ultra, the leaker said the device will face no delays, contrary to the rumors that surfaced recently.
According to a translated version of the post, the iPhone Fold faced production issues related to scalability, but those have now been resolved. There might still be a slight delay. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently said that the foldable iPhone may not be available for pre-orders or officially go on sale until Q4 2026, and could see longer delivery times. Moreover, the device is expected to cost around $2,300 and $2,500.
Sharing details about the 20th anniversary iPhone, the leaker said (via 9to5Mac) it will have a larger vapor cooling chamber, maintain the thickness of the iPhone Air, and return to glass construction. Apple already uses glass in iPhones, so it’s not clear how things would unfold in this area. Also, more information is needed to clear up the confusion over the device’s thickness, as the iPhone Air was heavily criticized for its smaller battery.

A leaked 3C certification hints that the iPhone 18 Pro Max would ship with a larger battery, around 500mAh higher than its predecessor. There were a couple of reports suggesting a price hike for the Pro models, with a $250-$300 jump this year.
This is largely due to the global memory crisis, the rumored variable aperture camera, and a 2nm A20 chip powering the devices. Meanwhile, the second generation of the iPhone Air is expected to fit a bigger battery and an ultra-wide camera on the back side.
That said, Apple will unveil the latest iPhones next month. One big difference this year is that Apple will have a new final boss. Hardware chief John Ternus will take charge as Apple’s CEO on September 1.
