Following our previous look at an opening for a Junior Designer at WOO design, we are using this week’s edition of our Job Highlights series to explore an open role on Archinect Jobs for a Junior Architect at Gehry Partners, one of several positions listed by the firm on our jobs board.
The role, based in Los Angeles, calls for an individual with a “professional degree in architecture, strong design and 3D modeling skills,” and who has “experience in working in a collaborative environment to develop physical models, design documentation.” Requirements for the role include experience in Rhino, Revit, and AutoCAD.

The open roles at Gehry Partners offer us a chance to recall developments at the firm throughout 2026, one year after the passing of the firm’s founder Frank Gehry. In recent weeks, an early residence by the architect hit the market for $1.7m, marking only the second time that the Benson House has changed hands since its completion in 1981. A rare 1980s home by Gehry with unique geometries also changed hands in April.

In June, meanwhile, construction began on the Dar al Funoon Abu Dhabi, a performing arts institution designed by the late architect scheduled to open in 2030. Gehry’s design features a “billowing fabric-like exterior that cascades over the heart of the site.” The facade is designed to be transparent to reveal elements of the artistic process to visitors and passersby.

In recent months, several retrospectives have also opened revolving around Gehry. Among them are The Century of Gehry at the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art in Porto, Portugal, which charts the late architect’s career through models, drawings, furniture, sculptures, and archival material spanning several decades of practice. In May, meanwhile, Gagosian’s Beverly Hills opened an exhibition of the architect’s sculptures.
