Weibo tipster @SmartPikachu said that Huawei could introduce an upgraded anti-peeping screen privacy feature to the Mate 90 flagship. The upcoming phone lineup already has a lot to offer, though this add-on will directly impact the user experience.
Anti-peeping feature debuted with the Pura 80 Ultra in mid-2025. Powered by AI, the capability uses the front-facing camera and tracking sensors to detect if someone around you is peeping into your display or trying to read your private information.
It first monitors the area around the phone in real-time, and when notices an unauthorized second face or prying eyes looking at the display, the feature triggers a warning, blurs the screen, or simply hides sensitive notifications.
Many brands like Xiaomi, OPPO, and Vivo took this move as an inspiration and implemented similar hardware and software on their devices. Honor is about to bring such a privacy feature to the Magic 9 series by October this year.
