Jalebi.io, the UAE-based foodtech startup, announced it is permanently shutting down after a journey that began in 2021 and was capped by significant regional growth and prestigious awards, most notably the recent “MAJRA Gold Seal” in November 2025.

Over the course of its journey, jalebi.io developed an intelligent operating system for managing restaurant and food chain operations, covering inventory, production, and supply chains across kitchen networks in six Gulf markets.

It signed institutional contracts with leading brands and attracted customers who migrated from systems such as Microsoft, SAP, and Oracle, confirming market acceptance of its technical capabilities. The company did not disclose the reasons for the shutdown.

The company earned recognition from the UAE Ministry of Economy under the Future100 initiative, the MBRIF platform, and the Hub71 business accelerator, as well as international innovation platforms from South Korea and Canada. It also raised investments from angel investors and venture funds in the region.

Since its founding, jalebi.io focused on developing an integrated inventory management platform that supports point-of-sale, combining foodtech, supply chain, fintech, and sustainability, making it one of the standout Emirati innovation companies regionally and globally.

In its farewell message, jalebi.io praised its team and their dedication, celebrated the spirit of entrepreneurship and perseverance, urged other founders to keep tackling “hard problems,” and described the end of its journey as a chapter in an ambitious and inspiring entrepreneurship narrative in the region.
