🇨🇿 Czech Cinema Spotlight
Bohemian Paradise (Dovolená v Českém ráji) turns a family camping trip into a wryly observed portrait of Czech holiday culture, set against the spectacular landscapes of Český ráj. The new comedy follows a family as their vacation spirals into mishaps, while gently skewering the rituals, stereotypes, and absurdities of domestic tourism.
Why watch now: The film showcases the forests, sandstone formations, and Trosky Castle in Bohemian Paradise, and bucks a recent trend in Czech comedy with its offbeat humor. The Prague Reporter calls it “a warm but unsparing satire of Czech holiday culture that will resonate with anyone who has spent time in the country’s campsites and forests.”
