In an exclusive interview with ET Edge Insights, Rajneesh Chopra, Managing Director, Amway India, reflects on the company’s transformation journey, describing the past two years as a deliberate phase of strengthening governance, compliance, and organisational capability before returning to growth. He emphasises that the transformation has centred on people, product innovation, and creating economic impact, with investments in employee capabilities, entrepreneur development, and high-quality products forming the foundation of Amway India’s renewed strategy.
Addressing the direct selling industry, he highlights Amway India’s commitment to operating in full compliance with the Direct Selling Rules, 2021, making transparency, ethical governance, and consumer trust central to its business model. He notes that rigorous quality assurance, scientific validation, and clear communication with business owners and consumers have been key to rebuilding credibility, while describing partnerships with entrepreneurs as the company’s greatest strength.
On India’s growing health and wellness market, Chopra observes that rising consumer awareness has accelerated demand for science-led nutrition. He points to Amway’s investments in research and development, manufacturing, certified farms, and extensive product testing, arguing that scientific rigour and product traceability distinguish the company’s wellness portfolio in an increasingly competitive market.
Looking ahead, Chopra positions Amway India’s growth alongside India’s Viksit Bharat vision, reiterating the company’s philosophy of “Amway for India, India for Amway”. He highlights entrepreneurship, women’s economic participation, and local manufacturing as key priorities, emphasising that empowering individuals through trusted business opportunities, while maintaining the highest standards of governance and product quality, will enable the organisation to contribute meaningfully to India’s long-term economic and social development.
