TEXARKANA — Pokémon GO community ambassador Nicholas Ebel has created an interactive website, PoGoTXK.com, that works as a community resource hub and map of Spring Lake Park.
“I designed and developed the website myself specifically for the PoGo TXK community,” Ebel said. “It will continue to evolve with new features based on feedback from local players.”
Planning for the website began in 2026, with the website officially launched in June 2026 after the 2026 Pokémon GO Fest: Global.
“The initial version took several weeks to build, with many additional hours spent mapping over a hundred real-life POIs (points of interests) at Spring Lake Park, improving mobile support, and ensuring the website remains easy for everyone to use. It continues to receive regular updates,” Ebel said.
The website was created for players, who may not have the Campfire app, to find information about meetups and community information. It also eliminates the need to dig through social media posts.
“The website makes it much easier for both new and longtime players to get involved. Instead of searching through multiple apps or social media posts, players can find everything they need in one place,” Ebel said. “It helps people discover local meetups, navigate Spring Lake Park, connect with other trainers and stay informed about upcoming events, making the community more welcoming and accessible. The website serves as an informational site to help tourists, visitors and people passing through learn more about the park’s POIs. “
The app locates items such as PokeStops, gyms, Power Stops and other in-game stops. It also maps baseball fields, parking lots, roads and different places located at the park.
“Players can also view upcoming events, access the community’s Campfire, Discord, Facebook, and Instagram pages, read the Code of Conduct, learn about PoGo TXK, and quickly locate important points of interest around the park,” Ebel said.
During the 2026 Pokémon GO Fest: Global, the community saw hundreds of players gathering during the two-day event.
“As the PoGo TXK community continued to grow, it became clear that having a dedicated website would make information easier to find and reduce confusion. The goal was to create a permanent home for the community that anyone could access at any time, regardless of which social media platforms they use,” Ebel said. “Anyone can access the website. Whether you’re a longtime Pokémon GO player, someone returning to the game, or completely new to the community, the website is free and open to everyone. Its purpose is to help connect trainers throughout Texarkana and the surrounding region.”
