Six fire crews and a truck with an extendable ladder battled a large Auckland factory fire this morning.

Crews had now put out the fire, on Church St, Onehunga after receiving multiple calls at 8.22am, a Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said.

Fire teams were still putting
out the last of the hotspots, he said.

The factory was well alight when crews arrived and a photo posted to the Onehunga Community Patrol social media page showed smoke rising over the suburb.

The building was 10m by 10m, 4m in height and used in “print finishing”, the spokesman said.
