What preparation is needed for going on a trip. There are many opinions about the answer. It’s a side that needs to be fully prepared and a side that recklessly leaves. It’s only about focusing on travel, its natural meaning. That’s the pleasure, healing, and romance that only travel gives. A book and book meet a book of the same name that compares the trip to “Kong rolls everywhere.”

The title of the book sounds good. No, it’s fun. “Beans roll everywhere”. It’s a sentence like common sense, but it also makes me wonder what kind of story will be in it. Jeong Jeong-yeop, the author of the book, spent 30 years traveling the world to paint. He is also talented enough to receive Korea’s best art awards such as Lee Jung-seop and Goam Art Awards. The main materials he drew were mainly red beans and beans. The basic stories have been told to us through grains, which are seeds and fruits. The red beans and beans, which are performatively drawn each grain full of the screen, express the repetitive labor of a woman, and show the uniqueness and cohesive vitality of small beings.
The book collected about 40 sketchbooks, which the author has drawn one landscape everywhere he travels to numerous countries for 30 years. It mainly features stories of countries that do not dare to leave easily, such as Kilimanjaro, Death Valley, and South America. And they say that they are not far away than they think, and there is a way of travel that can be approached regardless of age.

The mid-1990s, when he first began traveling, was a time when overseas travel was not yet common in Korea. Moreover, it was difficult to understand socially that a woman who is married and has children would travel alone. However, travel was like a breathing hole for him, who lived working, raising children, and living in parallel. The author remembered that he could live for three months after three days and seven months after a week.
Travel sketch is a record of landscapes left by the author for many years. He says sketching is like a “picture diary where you enjoyed your first sense of drawing.” And I encourage the reader to do a travel sketch. If you put down the burden of drawing well and become a little brazen in the eyes of others, you can meet the joy of drawing. There is no wrong picture. If you draw the line incorrectly, you can draw it again or overlap it. Pictures bring back memories better than pictures. The scenery that I looked carefully to draw is indelible for a long time.

The book consists largely of two chapters. In Chapter 1, he visited snow mountains, deserts, and wasteland and wrote about his time alone with a calm but hot heart, and in Chapter 2, he flew to South America to participate in the performance Biennale with fellow artists long ago and tells the days when he was struggling to promote Korean art. The drawing drawn with quick writing has a refreshing taste. It is drawn with a simple writing instrument to create a friendly feeling. The artist purchases sketchbooks locally, and the drawings are different from country to country as they are drawn on notebooks of different sizes and materials. It is interesting to express the unique atmosphere of each country slightly differently.
※ The ‘Book and Book’ has a great ambition to introduce all the ‘travel books’ of the world scattered here and there. Professional publishers are good, and books from individual travelers are also welcome. I don’t mind any topic, from travel guidebooks to travel essays or photo books. If you want to promote a book with a travel theme, please knock on the door of the ‘bookbook.’
