One person has been seriously injured following a crash between a car and a truck that closed part of Christchurch’s Southern Motorway.

Emergency services responded to the crash near the Curletts Rd on-ramp about 3pm today.

Police said the motorway was partially blocked westbound between the Curletts Rd on-ramp and
Shands Rd off-ramp.

Hato Hone St John said it assessed two patients and transported one in a serious condition to Christchurch Hospital.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
