All Whites: Liberato Cacace banned from driving after speeding offences in Wrexham

  • September 18, 2026

Cacace didn’t attend court, but his solicitor said that “he accepted full responsibility for all matters” and wished to plead guilty.

The 25-year-old is in his second season with second division-side Wrexham AFC, although he’s been limited to just 13 first team appearances due to multiple injuries.

Cacace was fit for the All Whites’ recent World Cup campaign and played in every game of Wrexham’s US pre-season tour before suffering another fitness setback, and he’s yet to play this season.

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson admitted recently that Cacace has been very unlucky with injuries.

“He’s a great lad; he’s just been really, really unlucky and sometimes pushed himself too quickly after an injury,” Parkinson said. “He’s getting there, but we’ve just got to be patient.

“Sometimes you can overanalyse injuries, but of course we have looked into the reasons for it. Libby came with no injury record at all; that’s the frustrating thing. The intensity level is greater than Serie A in a lot of the games.

“The bottom line is he has had a few muscle injuries, so we need to now give him plenty of time. Make sure he’s got the right amount of time training to give him the best chance of being a part of it.”

The 25-year-old joined Wrexham last July for a club-record transfer fee of around $8.9m, which at the time was double their previous record fee.

Cacace wasn’t included in Darren Bazeley’s upcoming All Whites squad for matches against Palestine, China, Panama, and one of Ecuador or Japan over September and October.

New Zealand Football has been approached for comment, while the Herald has attempted to approach his agent.
