Hato Hone St John said it was notified at 7.52am.
“One patient was assessed and treated at the scene by the ambulance crew (minor condition and did not require transportation to hospital).”
Auckland Transport (AT) said it would investigate.
“Auckland Transport (AT) is saddened to hear about the incident in Ellerslie earlier this morning involving a bus, pole and a student.
“Our thoughts are with the injured person and their family, and we are thankful the injuries they suffered are minor.
“AT will be working closely with NZ Police, other emergency services, and the bus operator to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
An Auckland schoolgirl has been hit by a falling sign after the pole was first hit by a bus.
In a photo posted to social media, the girl is lying on the ground while students in uniform and adults surround her.
A local school has been contacted for comment.
In 2024, a pedestrian was killed after a fatigued taxi driver, who had worked 30 hours in two days, reversed into a sign.
Jason McEwan was walking his dog when he was hit by the sign and died at the scene.
