The four-time world champion has continued to expand his racing interests beyond F1 this year, including his Nurburgring 24 debut and several GT appearances through Verstappen Racing.

With the 2027 F1 schedule now confirmed, a number of major endurance races fall on free weekends, opening the door for Verstappen to add further appearances outside grand prix racing.

However, Le Mans is not currently among his plans, with Verstappen ruling out the iconic event from his 2027 schedule.

“Nurburgring and Spa, probably,” he said in Baku when asked about his endurance intentions for next year.

“Le Mans, that’s not on my list for now. I said already, after the race at the Nordschleife, that I wanted to go back.

“If it allows me to prepare well, I know there is no clash, but it still needs to work out in my schedule, then I’ll do it.

“And Spa is an exciting option.”

The Nurburgring 24 is scheduled for May 27-30, while the Spa 24 follows on June 24-27, with neither overlapping an F1 weekend.

Verstappen’s interest in both events follows his growing involvement in GT racing and gives him the chance to continue building experience away from single-seaters.

His first Nurburgring 24 appearance came in a Mercedes-AMG carrying his name this year, although that outing ended in disappointment after the car failed to reach the finish.

Bathurst could also emerge as another option.

The Bathurst 12 Hour will take place from February 12-14, more than a week before F1 pre-season testing begins, and organisers have already expressed interest in attracting Verstappen to Mount Panorama.

His Verstappen Racing operation currently has close links with Mercedes-AMG, although it has previously competed with Ferrari and Aston Martin machinery.

Le Mans, meanwhile, will run from June 9-13 between the Monaco and Portuguese grands prix.

Although the race itself does not conflict with F1, the pre-event test, which is mandatory for rookies, is scheduled on the same weekend as Monaco, creating an additional complication for any first-time appearance.

Verstappen’s decision to rule out Le Mans for 2027 does not appear to diminish his longer-term interest in the event, however, with the Dutchman recently revealing he has discussed a future attempt alongside two-time winner Fernando Alonso.
