Despite holding a knife, a witness told the Sydney Morning Herald the teen was likely to find himself in danger from the league player.
The NRL said it was not aware of the incident.

The 27-year-old May left the squad after the incident, partly because he was also worried about his younger brother Taylan, who did not make the squad, the Sydney newspaper said.
Toa Samoa had an opening round 18-24 loss to the Kiwis at Go Media Stadium on October 19.
May returned to the team and started on the bench for his side’s 34-6 victory over Tonga in Brisbane, but did not make the side for the final against the Kiwis at Sydney’s CommBank Stadium in November.
New Zealand won 36-14 and lifted their second Pacific Championship trophy.
Terrell had a tough season with Wests Tigers, with the team finishing third-bottom on the ladder.
Across 23 games, he scored one try and averaged 149 running metres per game.
The 27-year-old is expected to make the Samoa Rugby League World Cup squad, but faces tough competition from Payne Haas, Tino Fa’asuamaleaui and Spencer Leniu for a starting spot.
