NE-YO won’t stand for someone “disrespecting” his stage.
On Saturday, Sept. 27, the R&B superstar, 45, pushed a fan off stage after they crashed the set during his concert at the Glion Arena Kobe in Kobe, Japan.
According to video footage shared on NE-YO’s Instagram Stories, he was in the midst of singing his 2007 track “Because of You” when the incident occurred, per The Shade Room.
In the clip, the “Show Me” musician can be seen singing in a black cowboy hat, a sequin-accented blazer and leather pants when a fan in a white T-shirt dances up the stairs to the stage, turns around and holds his arms out wide in front of NE-YO.
The “Closer” artist then lowers his mic and pushes the fan out of the way as he continues to sing the song.
“This is what you DON’T do. I’m a gentleman but I WILL slap the s—out of a person disrespecting my stage,” NE-YO wrote.
He continued: “And then keep the party going. Don’t try me. All love, til it’s not.”
PEOPLE has reached out to NE-YO for comment.
Earlier this month, NE-YO opened up about his “phenomenal” love life with four women on Kai Cenat’s Mafiathon 3 stream.
During the conversation, he spoke about being in a polyamorous relationship with “four beautiful ladies.”

“My love life is phenomenal,” he said at the time. “I’m in a great space. I am currently in a polyamorous relationship. I have four beautiful ladies that move with me on the regular. They’re actually here.”
NE-YO also mentioned that he is not “legally married” to four women, but they’re his “wives.”
He also revealed why he decided to explore polyamory, referencing his divorce from Crystal Renay after seven years in 2022, which prompted him to be completely honest.
“I’m 45 years old,” said NE-YO. “At this point in my life, everything I do is about what’s best for me, what’s best for my kids, what’s best for my tribe. That’s it.”
