NASCAR delivers sweeping sanctions after Martinsville brawl Corey Heim was attacked after the Late Model Stock Car race at Martinsville.

NASCAR Cup Series part-timer Corey Heim clashed with Treyten Lapcevich on the last lap of the Late Model Stock Car race while battling for second place.

The pair then collided post-race, sending Heim’s car over the front left corner of Lapcevich’s.

Heim was subsequently confronted and punched by several members of the Chad Bryant Racing team at the famous hot dog stand.

The scenes drew severe criticism from Denny Hamlin, who Heim races for in the Cup Series out of the 23XI Racing stable.

NASCAR confirmed on Wednesday that seven people had been cited for behavioural infringements.

All seven were cited under sections 12-6.1C and 12-6.1C2 of the rulebook, which address member conduct and member-to-member confrontations involving physical violence.

Team owner Chad Bryant was given a $2000 USD ($2800 AUD) fine and suspended indefinitely by NASCAR.

He has also been suspended from the 2027 running of the ValleyStar Credit Union 300 and is under probation by NASCAR.

Bryant will be required to complete anger management training through a NASCAR-approved program.

Steven Civatares was fined $1000 USD ($1400 AUD), suspended indefinitely, suspended from the 2027 ValleyStar Credit Union 300, and is under NASCAR probation.

Treyton Lapcevich’s brother, Ryden Lapcevich, was fined $500 USD ($700 AUD) and placed on probation until December 31, 2027.
