A group of men armed with hammers were involved in an aggravated robbery of a central Auckland store.

Detective Senior Sergeant Rebecca Kirk said police are investigating an aggravated robbery at a Dominion Rd shop at 11.43am today.

Kirk said police received a report up to five
men carrying weapons, believed to be hammers, entered the store.

A number of items were taken before the group fled in a vehicle, she said.
