George Sosnak’s baseballs go on display at the Westmoreland Museum of American Art
Now through April, you can see the artwork of the late George Sosnak, a professional baseball umpire turned artist.
From the 1950s through the 1980s, Sosnak catalogued the history of baseball. He used actual baseballs as his canvas.
Sosnak started thousands of pieces and finished hundreds.

Sixty works are on display at the Westmoreland Museum of American Art. The museum provides magnifying glasses so visitors can see the tiny details and lettering up close.
