One person has been arrested after two people were injured in a reported stabbing north of Christchurch this morning.

Detective Sergeant Belinda Campbell said police and ambulance staff were called to a Sidey Quay address at about 8.25am after reports a person had suffered stab wounds.

“On arrival, a man
was discovered in serious condition with injuries to his leg and hand, while a woman was found with moderate injuries to her hand,” Campbell said.

“A man at the scene was arrested. It is believed those involved are known to each other.”
