Fire crews have freed a person trapped in a car following a crash near Taupō that left five people injured.
Emergency services rushed to the scene of the two-car crash on Tawera St, part of State Highway 41, in Tokānu, at about 2.50pm.
A Hato Hone St John spokesman said
three ambulances and two helicopters responded.
