Bathurst 1000 entry list
Bathurst 1000 weather forecast
Last year’s race descended into carnage towards the back end as rain began tumbling down, however, don’t expect the same this year.
On Friday morning, the Bureau of Meteorology reported Sunday is expected to be mostly sunny, with a slight chance of a shower. The maximum temperature is set to be 27C.
However, Saturday is set to be wet and wild with rain threatening the fifth and sixth practice and the iconic top 10 shootout.
As it stands, there is a 90% chance of rain across the day, with thunderstorms possible in the afternoon.
Bathurst 1000 starting grid
The Bathurst 1000 starting grid is determined through a two-stage process consisting of a general qualifying session on Friday and a single-lap top 10 shootout on Saturday.

Bathurst 1000 what happened last year
In 2025, Matt Payne joined an illustrious group of New Zealanders to conquer the mountain by winning the Bathurst 1000.
Starting from 18th, Payne and co-driver Garth Tander survived horrendous conditions – with seven safety cars deployed – to secure victory in one of the tensest 161-lap races in history.
Initially, fellow Kiwi Ryan Wood looked destined for victory but his car suffered engine issues with 20 laps remaining.
Payne took the lead for the first time with five laps to go when he jumped from third to first after leaders Cooper Murray and James Golding made contact.
Golding received a five-second penalty but didn’t give up, taking the lead on the final lap and crossing the line first.
But the penalty knocked him and co-driver David Russell to third, with David Reynolds and Lee Holdsworth finishing second.
