Sahana’s choice is not born of a little inconvenience, not born of a moment of anger. She did everything she could to save her relationship, to prove her innocence, to make her husband believe her, to the point that she was ready to give up her own life. It’s never easy to walk away from a relationship, and I don’t think divorce should be the first option. But when saving a relationship means the cost of your life, your self-respect and your identity, then to choose to walk away is not selfish, it is to choose yourself. I have also seen women in real life who have suffered in silence for years because they are afraid of what society will say and I have also seen women who choose the difficult path of walking away and rebuilding their lives. What I love about this track is Sahana is such a simple, soft spoken, relatable girl and yet she chooses to stand up for herself.
