Shane Gillis dropped the F-bomb on Saturday Night Live this weekend.
The comedian, 38, returned to host the late-night comedy sketch series for the third time on Saturday, Oct. 10.
At one point during a Dr. Seuss-inspired sketch, Gillis accidentally blurted out “f—,” and he could be seen visibly embarrassed by the live on-air mistake.
In the sketch, titled “Green Eggs and Ham,” Gillis played an overly protective son, Zachary, who kept defending his father, Mikey Day’s The Lorax, from Andrew Dismukes’ Sam-I-Am, who pressured the latter into trying the strange dish from the classic Dr. Seuss novel.
“Hey! What the hell is wrong with you? My dad says he doesn’t like green eggs and ham. Drop it. Walk away,” Gillis shouted at Dismukes, 31, who, pushing back again, replied, “But he may like green eggs and ham.”
“Bro, it’s a non-starter. He said he doesn’t f—ing,” Gillis then responded, quickly catching his mistake mid-blunder, before adding, “Jeez, like them. Whoa, no!”
As the shocked Studio 8H audience could be heard laughing, Gillis put his hand up apologetically to those watching and continued the sketch.
“He said, ‘I do not like green eggs and ham,’ ” Gillis reiterated while shaking his head.
Toward the end of the sketch, Day worked in Gillis’ dropping of the F-bomb, yelling, “I want you out of this house. You’re a loser, and you said a bad word!”
At the end of the sketch, Gillis apologized, stating, “Sorry about earlier.”

Gillis returned to host on SNL on Oct. 11 with musical guest Rosalía. The comedian last hosted in February 2024 and March 2025.
He was previously announced as a new SNL cast member for season 45 in 2019, but he was dropped from the late-night series before the season began for past racial and homophobic comments.
Rosalía, meanwhile, last performed on SNL in March 2022.
