Oppo’s next foldable just leaked with four rear cameras, including a 200MP main sensor and a periscope zoom, on a wide body that Samsung and Apple each launched with only two. That matters because 2026 is the year foldables went wide, and so far going wide has meant giving up the zoom lens and part of the battery. Here’s what the Oppo Find N7 leak tells us, where it could beat its rivals, and what it still has to prove.

What Leaked: The Oppo Find N7 Spec Sheet So Far

The new details come from Digital Chat Station, a Weibo tipster with a long record on Chinese phones. They’re based on an engineering sample, which is an early test unit that factories build months before the final phone. Parts can still change, and Oppo hasn’t confirmed anything.

Here’s everything we know so far, combined with earlier leaks from the same tipster:

A few of those terms need a plain-English translation. A periscope telephoto is a zoom camera that bounces light sideways through a prism, like a submarine periscope, so a long lens fits inside a thin phone. A multispectral sensor doesn’t take photos at all. It measures the exact color of the light around you, so the phone can get skin tones and white balance right under, say, orange streetlights.

Oppo Find N7 Specs

That last point matters for how you read the headline. “Quad camera” sounds like four lenses you’ll shoot with, but in practice you get three. We’d still call that a strong setup, as you’ll see below.

What jumps out to us is how familiar the list looks. The Find N6, which launched in March, also has a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide, a 50MP periscope, and a small multispectral sensor (2MP on the N6). The leak doesn’t say whether Oppo is reusing those sensors or upgrading them. So the news isn’t new camera hardware. It’s that Oppo appears to keep all of it while squeezing the phone into a completely different shape.

Why 7.6 Inches Keeps Showing Up

If 7.6 inches sounds familiar, there’s a reason. The $1,899 Galaxy Z Fold 8 pairs a 7.6-inch inner screen with a 5.5-inch cover. The iPhone Duo uses 7.6 and 5.4 inches. Huawei’s Pura X Max sits at 7.7 and 5.4. Now the Find N7 reportedly lands at 7.6 and 5.5.

That isn’t a coincidence. The biggest panel makers build foldable screens in a handful of sizes, and the “wide” format has settled on roughly the same shape. Earlier leaks named both Samsung Display and BOE as possible suppliers for the Find N7, and the new leak points to Samsung on this test unit. In other words, Oppo may buy its most important part from the same company whose phone division is its biggest rival.

The bigger question is what you give up. The Find N6 has an almost square 8.12-inch inner screen. If the N7 follows the roughly 4:3 shape Samsung uses, our math puts its inner screen at about 15% less total area. You’d feel that in split-screen apps and when reading long documents.

Here’s the twist, though: video doesn’t get smaller. Movies and YouTube videos are wide (16:9), so what counts is the screen’s long edge. That edge measures about 6 inches on both phones, so a video plays at about the same size on either. You’d also get thinner black bars on the wider screen.

The cover screen is where the trade-off hurts more. The Find N6 has a 6.62-inch outer display that feels like a normal phone. A 5.5-inch-wide cover is shorter and stubbier, closer to a passport in shape. If you mostly use your foldable closed, the N6’s design suits you better. The wide format bets that you’ll open the phone more often, and for watching video, that bet makes sense to us.

The Camera Gap Oppo Could Exploit

This is where the leak gets interesting. Look at what the other wide foldables gave up to get thin:

Samsung and Apple both dropped the telephoto lens entirely. Huawei kept its periscope but cut the ultra-wide to 12.5MP. If the leak holds, the Find N7 would be the only wide foldable without an obvious camera downgrade compared with a regular flagship phone.

Why does a zoom lens matter so much? Because it’s the camera you reach for when you can’t get closer: your kid on a soccer field, a band on stage, a sign across the street. Phones without one crop into the main image, and detail falls apart fast past 2x. A 200MP main sensor helps a bit there, since it has more pixels to crop from, but it doesn’t replace real optical zoom.

Oppo Find N7 camera

Cameras are a big reason people pick Oppo’s Find phones, and the Hasselblad tuning carries over here. Our read is that Oppo sees an opening Samsung and Apple left wide open. It can’t compete with them in the US, where it doesn’t officially sell phones. But in Asia and Europe, “the wide foldable that didn’t cut the camera” is an easy pitch to make.

We’d add one caution. Fitting a periscope into a thinner body is hard, and earlier leaks said Oppo was testing two layouts, including a horizontal camera module similar to the iPhone Air’s. If the final design ends up thicker than rivals, some buyers will happily trade the zoom for a slimmer phone.

The Battery Math Might Be Oppo’s Real Weapon

A 6,500mAh battery would be about 35% bigger than the Galaxy Z Fold 8’s 4,800mAh and about 23% bigger than the Pura X Max’s 5,300mAh. It would also top the Find N6’s 6,000mAh, in a phone that’s reportedly slimmer and lighter.

How is that possible? Chinese phone makers have moved faster than Samsung and Apple to silicon-carbon batteries. These cells mix silicon into the battery’s negative side, so they hold more energy in the same space. That’s why so many Chinese phones in 2026 ship with batteries that would’ve sounded unrealistic two years ago.

Still, a bigger number doesn’t automatically mean longer battery life. A 7.6-inch screen drains power quickly, and so does a powerful chip. The leaked capacity is also an early target: the tipster’s July post only said it “starts with 6.” We’d treat 6,500mAh as a ceiling, not a promise.

About That “First 2nm Foldable” Claim

Some early coverage calls the Find N7 the first foldable with a 2nm chip. That’s not quite right. Apple’s iPhone Duo runs the A20 Pro, a 2nm chip. It opens for pre-orders on October 16 and reaches stores on October 23, months before the Find N7’s Q1 2027 window. The accurate version: the Find N7 could be one of the first Android foldables on a 2nm Snapdragon.

2nm Snapdragon

Why should you care about “2nm”? The number describes how small the transistors on the chip are. Smaller transistors mean the chip fits more of them in the same space and uses less power for the same task. In a foldable with two screens to feed, that efficiency matters more than raw speed.

The latest leak doesn’t name the processor, but earlier reports point to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 family. Qualcomm’s top version claims 13% faster processing and 44% faster graphics than the Gen 5 inside the Find N6. We don’t yet know which Gen 6 variant Oppo will use, and that could change the real-world gap.

What It Might Cost, and When You Can Buy It

The Find N6 launched in China in March at ¥9,999 ($1,492) and reached global markets days later at $1,400. A Q1 2027 launch would keep Oppo on its yearly rhythm.

Our estimate for the Find N7 is ¥9,999 to ¥10,999 ($1,492 to $1,642) in China. Rising memory prices have already pushed several 2026 phones higher, so a flat price would surprise us more than a bump. Even at the high end, it would sit well below the iPhone Duo’s $1,999 at launch, though that compares a China price with a US one.

If you want a wide foldable right now, especially in the US, the iPhone Duo and Galaxy Z Fold 8 are your options. And if you’re open to a regular book-style design, the vivo X Fold 6 is already on its way to global stores. But if camera quality decides your phone and you live where Oppo sells, waiting for the Find N7 looks like the smarter move to us.

Just keep three caveats in mind. These specs come from a test unit. “Crease-free” needs real-world testing over months, not a press photo. And wide screens only shine when apps are built for them, which still varies a lot from app to app. The tipster’s original Weibo post on the wide design came in June, so Oppo has had time to refine this. We’ll know how much when the first official teasers drop.

FAQsWhich brand sells the most foldable phones in 2026?

Samsung and Huawei have traded the global lead for years, with Huawei dominant in China. Apple’s first foldable is the wild card, since millions of iPhone owners can now upgrade without switching platforms.

Is there a wide-screen phone that doesn’t fold?

Yes. Huawei’s Pura X View uses a wider, non-folding screen that gives you some of the video benefits without a hinge or a crease. It’s cheaper than a foldable, but you don’t get the tablet-sized screen when you need it.

Can I buy a 2nm phone today?

Yes, and not only from Apple. MediaTek’s 2nm Dimensity 9600 Pro already powers several Chinese flagships, though none of them uses all of the chip’s power. On the Snapdragon side, Qualcomm’s 8 Elite Gen 6 family is now rolling into new phones.

Is Huawei’s Pura X Max worth it over the iPhone Duo?

It depends on where you live. The Pura X Max has a zoom lens and a bigger battery, but it doesn’t run Google apps and isn’t sold in the US. In China, Huawei is outselling the late-arriving iPhone Duo in the wide-foldable segment.

Can I buy Oppo phones in the US?

Not officially. Oppo doesn’t sell its phones through US carriers or stores, so you’d need to import one, and some 5G bands may not work.
