Keselowski will depart the team at the end of this year and is rumoured to be exploring multiple options in NASCAR.

RFK Racing has been run as a three-car team with two in-house charters and another leased from Rick Ware Racing.

That leased charter is set to shift stables in 2027 to Legacy Motor Club for Riley Herbst.

RFK is hopeful of acquiring a third charter, but in the event that it doesn’t, will run the third car as a full-time, non-chartered entry.

It is expected that RFK’s charters will be used for the #17 and #60 cars of Chris Buescher and Ryan Preece respectively leaving the #6 as a non-chartered, open entry.

Speedcafe understands Feeney is the front-runner for an opportunity to tackle selected road course races with RFK.

Feeney spent time with the team during a visit to the Sonoma road course race this year, with a view to 2027 opportunities.

He’s made clear that his ideal 2027 program includes a mix of NASCAR and international GT races alongside a full Supercars schedule.

Speaking on his Door Bumper Clear podcast, Bubba Wallace’s spotter Freddie Kraft hinted at the possibility of a Supercars driver in the #6 car.

“Interestingly enough, I have been hearing an Australian driver’s name mentioned a heck of a lot around that #6 car for next year,” said Kraft.

“It’s not SVG (Shane van Gisbergen). I think he’s from Australia. He runs in Australian Supercars.

“But I’ve heard that name mentioned a little bit, so it will be interesting to see how that plays out.”

Kraft’s comments, albeit veiled, have revived speculation about Feeney’s plans.

In any case, interested Supercars drivers will have to wait before committing to any NASCAR opportunities with the 2027 calendar still pending a release.

The 2027 NASCAR Cup Series will visit Circuit of the Americas on March 7, Sonoma on July 11, San Diego street on August 1, and Watkins Glen on September 19.
