Sean Combs reportedly suffers head injury after prison clash

  • October 14, 2026

The Federal Bureau of Prisons had not immediately responded to a request for comment from Page Six, while the precise circumstances surrounding the reported injury remain unclear.

TMZ reported Combs and Coke became involved in a physical confrontation following tensions among inmates over allegations about the rapper’s conduct behind bars.

Coke, a former Jamaican drug lord who has been imprisoned in the United States since 2012, is serving a 23-year sentence for racketeering and drug trafficking offences.

The reported dispute followed an NBC News investigation into claims Combs had been enjoying preferential treatment in prison, including alleged access to contraband mobile phones, alcohol and drugs.

According to TMZ, some prisoners were angered after the publicity surrounding Combs’ alleged activities prompted prison officials to carry out searches of the facility.

At least two raids were reportedly conducted, with mobile phones confiscated from Coke and other inmates.

TMZ also claimed Coke blamed Combs for drawing attention to activities inside the prison and triggering the increased scrutiny.

And the outlet said Coke was placed in solitary confinement for two weeks following the alleged confrontation.

Combs was reportedly already being held in the prison’s Special Housing Unit, known as SHU, in connection with the allegations raised by NBC News.

The confrontation was said to have occurred during his daily break from the unit.

However, Page Six had previously reported a different account of Sean’s injury, suggesting he had struck his head against a bed rather than being hurt during a fight.

Combs, who founded Bad Boy Records and helped launch the careers of artists including the Notorious B.I.G., became one of the most influential figures in American hip-hop during the 1990s.

His best-known recordings include I’ll Be Missing You, his tribute to the Notorious B.I.G., Can’t Nobody Hold Me Down, Bad Boy for Life and Act Bad.

He also founded the Revolt television network and established business interests in fashion, entertainment and alcohol.

Combs was convicted in July 2025 of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution following a federal trial in New York.

The jury acquitted him of the more serious charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking.

He was subsequently sentenced to 50 months in federal prison.

His projected release date has recently been moved from January 21 to March 2, 2028, according to Federal Bureau of Prisons records reported by the Los Angeles Times.
