(UPDATE) Manny Pay has sent a statement, clarifying that they are not shutting down.

Former senator and boxing icon Manny Pacquiao has so many ventures that we’ve lost count, and digital payments app ManyPay is one of them. While it is barely one year after it launched, MannyPay announced that it will end its operations on November 10. That’s unfortunate for a rising payment platform, as users had good impressions of MannyPay for quick transaction processing and broad options for adding money to its eWallet.

In its advisory, users are recommended to “completely consume or transfer your Manny Pay account balances.” Any remaining balance will be converted to a Traxion Pay account that’s available for download in Apple App Store and Google Play Store. According to its app listing, Traxion Pay is the “first online wallet in the Philippines with a banking module service.”

Things get a bit confusing: despite winding down its service, there’s a teaser for Manny Pay 2.0, and the post mentioned that the team behind it are developing something related to paying, sending money, and managing everyday needs. It sounds very similar to what MannyPay currently offers, but they might have other innovations in mind for Manny Pay 2.0.

For additional context, MannyPay is operated by 7th Pillar Integrated System Corp., a tech company that’s also chaired by Pacquiao and recently received its Operator of Payment System (OPS) registration from the BSP last April.
