Saturday is Warhammer Day! It’s also Halloween, so, to get ready we’re taking a look at some of our favourite terrifying Warhammer miniatures.

Thousand Sons

Their whispered war cry is the last thing you’ll hear. These living suits of armour can’t be reasoned with, can’t be stopped, and they’re armed with magic guns!

Once proud Space Marines, Rubric Marines are now nothing more than a pile of dust and a corrupted soul, trapped inside a suit of power armour for all time, and commanded like a puppet by the arcane magic of warp-fuelled sorcerers. Some fates are worse than death.

Blood Angels

What would Halloween be without vampires? Blood Angels may not dislike garlic, but they are incredibly stylish, and do crave the taste of blood. Just remember, Space Marines have two hearts, so you’d better bring two stakes!

Blood Angels have a second flaw – the Black Rage – and none have ever truly been able to overcome it. That was until Mephiston, Chief Librarian of the Blood Angels, crossed the Rubicon Primaris and seemingly left his curse behind him. Don’t think he won’t nibble your neck though.

Necrons

While they may look skeletal, there’s no organic matter to be found on a Necron Warrior. These deathless automatons march without fear or mercy in eerie lockstep with a single-minded desire to destroy every living creature in the galaxy. You may be faster, but they’ll chase you forever.

Necron Warriors form the undead legions of the dynasties, and if it wasn’t scary enough staring into their dead, soulless eyes, then their guns can flay the flesh from any living creature. On top of that, one of their star gods was death incarnate, and is said to be the inspiration for the grim reaper.

Nighthaunt

The Nighthaunt are no mere ghosts, they are bitter, ethereal spirits that inflict terror, and drag down the souls of the living. Not to put too fine a point on it, these are not kids wearing bedsheets with eyeholes cut into them.

No figure in the worlds of Warhammer embodies the misery of the restless undead more than Lady Olynder, Mortarch of Grief. She is despair made manifest, gloom given form, and mortals in her presence are overwhelmed by a dread so potent that it can silence the heartbeat of even the strongest opponent.

Gloomspite Gitz

While the motley assortment of creatures that make up the Gloomspite Gitz may seem “fun” to the casual observer, make no mistake, Squigs have very sharp teeth. And a lot of them.

When grots take to the battlefield with a horde of Squigs, woe betide anyone who underestimates these vicious creatures. Little more than mouths with legs and a terrible appetite, Squigs are feared across the Mortal Realms, able to tear even the mightiest foe to shreds in a crimson blur.

Space Wolves

The full moon shines down through the inky black darkness. Out on the moor, you hear a blood-curdling howl. Wulfen are part Space Marine and part wolf, and they are probably the closest thing to a werewolf in the 41st Millennium.

Wulfen are bestial warriors, altered by the curse lying in the gene-seed of all scions of the Wolf King – hunters that bound forward with fangs bared and claws outstretched. They’re fast, and they hit hard with claws, teeth, and a variety of deadly weapons.

Join us in-store to celebrate Warhammer Day and Halloween! You’ll be able to pick up other scary models, such as skeletons, zombies, and other undead warriors. Plus, you can get Oath Fulfilled, the special commemorative miniature, who, if she gets sufficiently blessed by the Dark Gods, might make it onto this list for next year.
