Every month is the perfect month for a book, but when autumn is in view, and September is just starting, we’re eager to cozily connect with the perfect story.

Or storybook, of course. Young readers are feeling that sweet September-starting spirit and discovering a few new books to add to your child’s nightstand may be as easy as stopping by West Hollywood Park Sept. 7.

That’s where the Los Angeles Kids’ Book Festival will flower over several festive hours.

The early start time — it’s 9:30 a.m. — will give families the room to browse the booths, join an activity, or settle in for storytime.

If some quiet time is needed, head to the “Cozy Corner” on the third floor of the Rec Center where families can find “quiet, calming activities,” helmed by Play2Progress.

The event, which is presented by the ABC Foundation, City of West Hollywood, LA Phil, and Los Angeles Kings, is a community-strong festivity “… celebrating early education, bilingualism, and multiculturalism,” and entry is free.

Before you go? Checking out the parking options around the park is a wise move; there are a few different options near West Hollywood Park.
