TEEN sensation Rylan Gray will get the opportunity to race against his dad in the upcoming GT4 Australia season finale.
The 18-year-old, who on Sunday finished 13th on Bathurst 1000 debut (aboard a Tickford Racing wildcard shared with Lochie Dalton), is now looking ahead to a Silver Cup class showdown at Hampton Downs across October 31-November 2.
He and George Miedecke will enter seven points shy of leaders Tom Hayman/Max Geoghegan.
Adding to the occasion will be the presence of Rylan’s father Jeremy on the grid.
A former V8 Utes and Touring Car Masters competitor, Gray Sr will race an Action Motorsport Toyota Supra GT4 Evo2 with Tayler Bryant.
“I haven’t raced anything since Touring Car Masters in 2022 and have been watching Rylan for the last three or four years, so I thought it was just time to get in and enjoy myself,” he said.
“GT4 looked like a lot of fun with a lot of good people, which is why I picked that to return to.

“This won’t be the first time I’ve been a part of GT4 before. I raced in an Aston Martin GT4 when GT3 and GT4 were combined a few years back with Andrew Miedecke, and it happens that our two boys are now racing together, which is nice.
“Tayler is a young Kiwi who is a good friend of our family, so we thought we’d team up and have some fun. He’s got good knowledge of Hampton Downs, and I could probably learn a fair bit off him to try and get me up to speed as quick as we can.
“Watching Rylan has been awesome over the past few years and I have picked up a few things off him, and although the reflexes won’t be as sharp as they once were, I still think we can have fun, stay out of trouble and get some results.
“I’m looking forward to driving the Toyota Supra – it’s a very nice car, and I fell in love with it when Rylan won a trip to go to Germany to race GT at Nürburgring. That’s when I was first exposed to them and I’ve just liked them ever since.
“It’s going to be quite special driving in the same field as Rylan because we are a racing family and that’s what we love to do. We’ve always spent time together racing, so to be on the same track together will be a lot of fun.”
Rylan Gray continues to be a popular name in the Supercars silly season circles and will next month have the chance to seal the Super2 title. He’ll carry a 147-point buffer over Dalton into the Adelaide decider.
