Ana de Armas has split from Tom Cruise after eight months — and her ex Ben Affleck has taken note!
“Ben’s happy as can be that she’s back on the market,” a source tells Globe of the A-lister, 53. “He’s planning to test the waters and see what his chances are for a reunion.”
Affleck began dating the Cuban actress, 37, after they met on the set of their erotic thriller, Deep Water, in 2020. After a whirlwind year, the pair broke up in January 2021.
“Their chemistry was off the charts, but the timing was all wrong back then,” the source says of the pandemic romance, adding that life for the Accountant star — who has battled alcohol addiction and relapsed in 2019 — “was still very chaotic” at the time.

But the Oscar winner “hasn’t been able to forget” de Armas, even amid his rekindled romance and two-year marriage to Jennifer Lopez, the source adds. “He’d bring her up to friends and talk about how great she is.”
As Globe previously reported, Affleck started reaching out to his ex when she was still dating Cruise.
Now, he’s hoping to make another relationship re-do work. “Ben is much more grounded these days,” says the source. “Plus, Ana’s had a ton of success since they broke up and that only makes Ben more attracted to her. He figures why not see if the spark is still there?”
“Who knows if she will feel the same but he’s willing to take the risk,” continues the source. “He would love a second shot.”
