Shehbaz Badesha, brother of former Bigg Boss 13 contestant Shehnaaz Gill, has landed in controversy after mentioning late actor Sidharth Shukla’s name during a recent Bigg Boss 19 episode. The comment, which came during a light moment, quickly turned into a major talking point online. Fans accused Shehbaz of using the late star’s popularity to seek attention and sympathy votes.

The exchange took place during the Diwali week Weekend Ka Vaar episode. In a chat with composer Amaal Mallik, Shehbaz said, “Mujhe Bigg Boss ke nomination me ane do, dekhte hain fir kya hota hai.” Amaal responded, “Ayenge sab…” But Shehbaz’s next line drew sharp criticism: “Sidharth ke fan baithe hain bahar mere saath. Jo winner hai na iss show ka, mere saath fan following baithi hai uski.”

That single statement was enough to upset Sidharth Shukla’s loyal fan base, known as the Sidhearts. Many took to X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram to express their anger, calling it an attempt to exploit the late actor’s name.

One user wrote, “Aaj ka episode end krney say pehely ek baat aapney bohut acchi dekhai @BiggBoss. That how #ShehbazBadesha is still using #SidharthShukla name for name & fame. Behen toh behen ab toh bhai bhi. Not done guys, have some shame.”

Another fan said, “Abe khud apne dum pe karna kuch… behen ki wajah se Bigg Boss mein aaya aur ab Sidharth ke fans votes maang raha hai… bhikmanga.”

User added, “Nahi karenge karne wale hote to jab Mridul se compete kar raha tha tab hi kar dete vote… do mahine rehne ke baad bhi Sidharth ke naam pe vote mang raha, besharam nikamma.”

The reactions underline how protective viewers remain about Sidharth Shukla’s legacy. Many believe Shehbaz’s comment crossed a line, turning a light exchange into an uncomfortable reminder of how sensitive references to the late actor remain.

While Shehbaz hasn’t directly responded to the backlash yet, the moment has already become one of the week’s most discussed clips, reminding contestants that invoking a beloved name on national television can come with heavy scrutiny.
