Disney content could be removed from YouTube TV this week as the two platforms clash over the terms of an expiring carriage deal, in the latest major carriage dispute concerning YouTube TV.<\/p>\n

YouTube TV and Disney\u2019s carriage deal expires Thursday night at 11:59 p.m. EDT, meaning if a deal is not made before then, Disney content could be removed from the streaming service.<\/p>\n

YouTube has accused Disney of \u201cproposing costly economic terms\u201d that would hike prices and lessen choices for YouTube TV customers, \u201cwhile benefiting Disney\u2019s own live TV products – like Hulu + Live TV and, soon, Fubo.\u201d<\/p>\n

YouTube said if Disney content is unavailable for an extended period of time, a $20 credit will be given to YouTube TV subscribers.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Disney has claimed YouTube parent company Google is \u201cexploiting its position at the expense of their own customers.\u201d <\/p>\n

ESPN and ABC are on the chopping block, according to Disney, which noted in a statement YouTube TV subscribers could lose access to \u201cNFL, college football, NBA and NHL seasons \u2014 and so much more.\u201d<\/p>\n

YouTube TV has gone through at least five carriage disputes this year alone, clashing with Paramount, Fox, NBCUniversal, TelevisaUnivision and Disney. The disagreements with Paramount, Fox and NBCUniversal were resolved shortly before the carriage deadline while the TelevisaUnivision dispute resulted in the Spanish language platform going dark on YouTube TV on Sept. 30. Disney has engaged in a carriage dispute with YouTube TV before, failing to reach an agreement with the streamer in 2021, when Disney content was briefly removed. YouTube TV, which has a base plan at $82.99 per month, is one of the most popular cable alternatives on the market and has about 10 million users subscribed to packages with traditional television channels, according to the Los Angeles Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n
