Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’s worldwide box office collection is inching towards the \u20b950 crore mark, eclipsing the lifetime haul of Karan Johar’s Dhadak 2. <\/p>\n

Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat worldwide box office collection day 5: Slowly and steadily, Milap Zaveri\u2019s romantic drama, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, has picked up pace at the box office. The film, which stars Harshvardhan Rane<\/a> and Sonam Bajwa in the lead roles, has been a surprise winner at the box office this Diwali.<\/p>\n

Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat opened at a strong \u20b99 crore net in India on Diwali. Over the next few days, the film maintained its momentum despite the weekdays being working days after a festival. By avoiding a large drop on any of the next three days, the film bounced back on Saturday, earning \u20b95.75 crore and taking its five-day total to \u20b934 crore net ( \u20b942.50 crore gross). While the film has not been a big hit overseas, it has still managed to net just over $200k in the international market in its first five days.<\/p>\n

This has taken Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat\u2019s five-day worldwide gross to over \u20b944 crore. Given that the film\u2019s budget is a measly \u20b925 crore, it is already a box office hit, and looks set to add a few crores to its kitty before it ends its run.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat crossed the lifetime haul of Dharma Entertainment\u2019s recent romantic drama, Dhadak 2, which had earned \u20b933 crore worldwide earlier this year.<\/p>\n

Harshvardhan Rane thanks audiences for supporting outsiders<\/p>\n

On Friday, speaking at a screening of the film in Gujarat, Harshvardhan Rane said, \u201cThis Diwali, you supported the films of two outsiders. Ayushmann Khurrana<\/a>\u2019s film has released along with mine. Watch both the films, please, and enjoy both. This sends a good message out that aap logon ne akele poora ka poora Bollywood se nepotism hi khatm kar diya (you people alone finished nepotism from the entire Bollywood).\u201d<\/p>\n

Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat released on Diwali alongside Ayushmann\u2019s Thamma. The horror comedy has also done well at the box office, earning over \u20b9100 crore worldwide.<\/p>\n
