{"id":106051,"date":"2025-10-28T23:41:12","date_gmt":"2025-10-28T23:41:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/106051\/"},"modified":"2025-10-28T23:41:12","modified_gmt":"2025-10-28T23:41:12","slug":"mycsp-staff-to-strike-until-final-day-of-contract","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/106051\/","title":{"rendered":"MyCSP staff to strike until final day of contract"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PCS union members at Civil Service Pension Scheme administrator MyCSP will hold another three weeks of strike action ahead of their transfer to outsourcing giant Capita.<\/p>\n<p>The employees, who have been taking strike action since 7 July, will continue their walkouts until 28 November, the\u00a0last day of the MyCSP contract before its move over to Capita.<\/p>\n<p>PCS said the 16 weeks of strike action taken so far has caused \u201csignificant disruption to MyCSP operations, leading to a growing backlog of cases\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The long-standing dispute is over MyCSP&#8217;s refusal to allow PCS to represent employees ahead of their planned TUPE transfer to Capita in December.\u00a0\u00a0The employees\u2019 latest spell of strike action had been due to end on 7 November before yesterday\u2019s announcement that it would be extended.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>PCS said it is \u201cdeeply frustrated at the continued refusal of MyCSP chief executive Duncan Watson to attend meetings, demonstrating a clear lack of respect for staff concerns\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>It added that it believes financial services company Equiniti (which owns 75% of MyCSP) is\u00a0 \u201cinvolved in decision-making, further muddying accountability\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>PCS general secretary Fran Heathcote said: \u201cOur hard-hitting strike action at MyCSP continues to be well supported by both members and the general public.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMyCSP\u2019s poor efforts to engage in meaningful dialogue have only strengthened our members\u2019 resolve to have a say in decisions that directly affect their livelihoods. We will continue to fight for their fundamental right to union representation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Last week, the Public Accounts Committee warned that\u00a0there is a <a href=\"http:\/\/A report from members of parliament\u2019s Public Accounts Committee published today says there is a \u201cclear risk\u201d that the firm will not be ready on time for the 1 December switch from current provider MyCSP.
