Image: Supplied <\/p>\n<p>A celebration of Rogers\u2019 remarkable life will take place at the November 21-22 \u2018Mallala Homecoming\u2019 event, which is co-promoted by the GRM-owned Australian Racing Group.<\/p>\n<p>The tribute is being put together by ARG event operations manager Sally Parkinson, who has been part of the GRM family for over 15 years.<\/p>\n<p>Parkinson has put a callout to anyone who owns an ex-Rogers\/GRM race car or replica to join the tribute, which will include a lap of the circuit and a display area at the event.<\/p>\n<p>GRM will take its 2000 Bathurst 1000 winning Valvoline Cummins Commodore as well as the Monaros that won the Bathurst 24 Hour in 2002 and \u201903 to lead the festivities.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-907432\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/monaro_2002winner-1200x800.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>The 2002 Bathurst 24 Hour winner is owned by GRM. Image: Supplied<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur involvement in the promotion of the Mallala event has made it a great opportunity to pay tribute to Garry,\u201d Parkinson told Speedcafe.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBaz has committed to bringing an extra truck to take the three Bathurst-winning cars down.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJason Bargwanna was already going to be there and will drive the Commodore and we\u2019re trying to get a couple of the other original drivers in the Monaros.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re hoping some other car owners will see what we\u2019re doing and reach out to get involved as well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[Trans Am competitor] Blake Tracey\u2019s dad owns a replica of the Soundwave Discos car, which they are going to bring over with their Trans Am.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Any car owners wishing to get involved can contact the team via GRM\u2019s social accounts or email <a href=\"https:\/\/speedcafe.com\/cdn-cgi\/l\/email-protection\" class=\"__cf_email__\" data-cfemail=\"83f0e2efeffac3e4f1eeecf7ecf1f0f3ecf1f7ade0eceeade2f6\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">[email\u00a0protected]<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>GRM will run its five Trans Am cars at the Mallala event, which will mark the squad\u2019s first race meeting since Rogers\u2019 passing last week.<\/p>\n<p>A private funeral is set to take place in Melbourne next Thursday, <a href=\"https:\/\/speedcafe.com\/supercars-news-garry-rogers-funeral-details-live-stream-watch-video\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">which will be streamed online for fans wishing to pay their respects<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"GRM&#8217;s Bathurst 1000 winning Commodore.
