\n\tMegadeth<\/a> have revealed the track listing for their self-titled final album, and along with the 10 new tracks, the album also includes a bonus track: a \u201creimagined\u201d version of \u201cRide The Lightning,\u201d the title track of Metallica<\/a>\u2019s second album, which every fan worth their salt knows Megadeth founder and frontman Dave Mustaine co-wrote with Metallica\u2019s James Hetfield, Cliff Burton, and Lars Ulrich when he was a member of the band. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMegadeth\u201d is due January 23, 2026<\/a>, on Mustaine\u2019s Tradecraft label in partnership with Frontiers Label Group\u2019s new BLKIIBLK imprint.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAs I come full circle on the career of a lifetime, the decision to include \u2018Ride The Lightning,\u2019 a song I co-wrote with James, Lars, and Cliff, was to pay my respects to where my career first started,\u201d\u00a0Mustaine said in the announcement.<\/p>\n

\n\tMustaine was a member of Metallica\u2019s first lineup and played with the band from late 1981 though March of 1983, when he was replaced by Kirk Hammett, who remains the group\u2019s lead guitarist. Mustaine soon formed Megadeth and has been the band\u2019s only constant member.<\/p>\n

\n\tHe announced in August that Megadeth\u2019s forthcoming album and 2026 tour will be their last (for more check here<\/a>).<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the announcement, Mustaine wrote in part, \u201cWe have done something together that\u2019s truly wonderful and will probably never happen again,\u201d he concludes. \u201cWe started a musical style, we started a revolution, we changed the guitar world and how it\u2019s played, and we changed the world. The bands I played in have influenced the world. I love you all for it. Thank you for everything.\u201d<\/p>\n
